The Building Capacity of Institutions to Help Farmers Better Adapt to Climate Change and Variability in Cambodia project aims to:

  • to increase awareness of climate risks management among Provincial Department of Agriculture, MAFF, and other interested stakeholders;
  • to develop educational outreach materials and demonstration trials to increase farmer awareness of the need for, and benefits of adaptation strategies;
  • to determine trends of climate variability, using the weather data through cooperating with Department of Meteorology;
  • to establish benchmark information on effect of climate change to agriculture sectors in Cambodia; and
  • to synthesize the lessons derived from results of project into farm-level adjustment guidelines and create wide dissemination channels.

PURPOSE OF PROJECT
The purpose of Local Governments and Climate Change project is to demonstrate the role of local governments in fostering climate change resilience and to identify practical ways to mainstream climate change resilience into sub-national planning and finance systems. An important focus is thus on how to strengthen institutions and systems at both national and sub-national levels. The entry points are provided by the recently introduced sub-national planning and sub-national finance systems.

Strengthened Capacity for Climate Change Adaptation in Health: Integrated Response to Climate Sensitive Vector Borne Diseases in Cambodia

PROJECT PURPOSE

The project aims at strengthening capacity for dengue and other vectorborne disease outbreak detection, prevention and response, including at the community level, to protect vulnerable populations in areas at risk of increased vectorborne disease burden due to climate change.
