The project aims to increase resilience of coastal communities and ecosystems to climate change through adaptation planning, demonstrated targeted local interventions and provision of practical learning experience in adaptation planning to the National Climate Change Committee and Climate Change Department.

BUILDING CAPACITY FOR INTEGRATING CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION IN FISHERIES SECTOR IN CAMBODIA

aquaculture rPURPOSE OF PROJECT: Building capacity for integrating climate change adaptation in fisheries sector in Cambodia project focuses on three areas:

  1. Raise general awareness of cause and effect of climate change impacts on aquatic ecosystems and fisheries department communities, of the need for response at national/sub-national and community level;
  2. Build institutional capacity of fisheries authorities, local resource managers, and development practitioners to respond through integrating climate change into policies, plans and guidelines;
  3. Demonstrate appropriate responses in fisheries sector.
